Mamphibireptile

The planet Mamphibireptile is an Earth-like world located in the Karland Universe. It has two moons – the ocean-covered Beaunu and the harsh, unforgiving Desolat. The planet is home to a variety of intelligent talking animals as well as a diverse number of other flora and fauna.

The geography of Mamphibireptile consists of oceans with islands off the coast of a main continent. The continent is home to the metropolis Moucat City while a nearby power plant called Laser Industries provides energy to the city in the form of Power Gems.

On the opposite side of the planet is a continent called Gondra which had a swords and sorcery era that was once ruled by the Three Dragons. Somewhere on the planet is a distant island of fairies called Farland.

Astrography

Moons

There are two moons in orbit of Mamphibireptile. Desolat is the older of the two moons, and it is sometimes simply referred to as “the Moon”. The terrain consists of barren rock with many craters. Curiously, the face of the moon has the shape of a rabbit on it. Inhabiting the surface are a variety of savage predators that prey on one another as well as anyone who happens to be wandering the surface.

Beaunu is the second moon of Mamphibireptile. It is a tropical, oceanic paradise with an island in the shape of the face of the evil mouse Luggsina. It is thought Beaunu is actually a giant megastructure spaceship that Luggsina’s ancestors used to travel to the planet.

Constellations

Mamphibireptile shares some constellations with Earth. Perhaps Mamphibireptile is in fact an alternative version of Earth that has been reshaped based on Karl’s imagination. For example, the constellations Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Orion all appear in the sky.

Local folklore offers a vastly different origin story for the stars. An old mythology tells that Ursa Major and Ursa Minor were two giant bears that rebelled against the creator gods Sky and Earth (not to be confused with planet Earth) in a 600 year war. The god Sky became Orion the hunter while Earth became a tortoise to hold up the world.
