The Dark World is an otherworldy subterranean realm initially believed to be the underground of Mamphibireptile, but may in fact be another dimension. The evil king Jamgem was banished here long ago.
The Dark World is mostly featureless. It comprises of a maze of caverns made of dull grey stone. There is no water to be found here. Instead, one will find pits filled with black, tar-like goop which is actually the manifestation of malevolent shadows in the form of liquid shadows. While there are no light sources in the Dark World, the grey stone is somehow illuminated although it features no shadows – the reason being that the tar-like goop is in fact the shadows themselves.
The tar itself is dangerous as touching will slowly sap away one’s life energy. From this tar can also arise hostile shadow monsters from which the evil king Jamgem raised much of his army.
