The Legend of the Unicorn

This myth originated sometime in the early Middle Ages of Karland.

Transcript

Long ago, a wizard rode his horse to the magic shop to buy more potions. When the wizard arrived, he discovered an enchanted gem that exposed his horse to a light that granted it special powers. The horse turned a moonlit white and grew a drill-like horn from its head, granting it the ability to run so fast that it left magical sparks behind.

This horse became the first of its kind of a new species called the unicorn. More of these enchanted gems were discovered and could transform more horses into unicorns, but for some reason, only female horses could become them. The unicorn became an honored creature and was praised for its beauty.

After two hundred years, the known supply of these unicorn gems ran out, and because of that, unicorns eventually became extinct. But perhaps if another one of these gems could be found, the unicorn could walk the earth once more.
