Hey guys! Krayfishkarl here with another Droplet: States of Matter update video! Version 1.4 of early access is now available! This update features three more environments that have been graphically updated! We have Steelworks from Heck, an ominous lava factory level; Cirrus Harbor, a futuristic sky port up in the clouds; and the Sill E. Con boss fight.
The Sill E. Con boss fight takes place just over halfway through the game. This bounty hunter has somehow gotten his hands on an unreleased prototype of the Professor’s next iteration of the weather machine, and he’s using it to take Droplet and Molly-QL down.
For the other two levels, Steelworks from Heck and Cirrus Harbor are both found in the last hub world of the game – Oganesson Labs. I meant for these levels to be fairly challenging. Steelworks from Heck, being a lava level means that you are in cloud form by default. You must freeze a path in ice form to cross some lava before you melt back into water form. There’s plenty of dangerous machinery to watch out for too.
Cirrus Harbor on the other hand involves being in ice form by default. This is one of the few levels in the game where the weather drones are found in rather devious places. Ice form can walk on top of grates, but other forms cannot. So if you touch a drone that turns you into water form while standing on a grate, you’ll plummet down below! This is a shake up of the usual formula established throughout the game just to keep you on your toes.
And lastly, there’s a few quality of life updates. These include some bug fixes and performance improvements. Perhaps one of the most notable changes is that Molly-QL’s ammo counter is now tracked separately just like her health. So now, switching between both Droplet and Molly-QL has more benefits beyond being cosmetic. If you are low on health or ammo, at almost any checkpoint, you can freely switch between the two and take turns. Ammo will even charge with the other character you are not currently using! However, their lives are still shared so be careful!
Lastly, don’t forget that Droplet: States of Matter is still on sale for 30% off until July 8! And with that, thank you for watching!
